Trans Pacific Partnership: what is it and how it will affect Thailand
January 7, 2014
A huge US-led Pacific Free Trade Area is to resume in January 2013 after 12 Ministers miss its deadline. Trans-Pacific Partnership is being negotiated by Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, the US and Vietnam which makes up 40 percent of global economy. While TPP is in progress, it is also asking other countries to join the pact.
The talk covers issues and areas which never been included in other pacts such as environment and labour standards. Due to its complexity and concerns around the agreement, it may affect related regulations and laws inlacing climate change, investment, e-commerce, labour laws and many others.
Therefore, TEBA would like to invite you to join our breakfast briefing on “The Trans-Pacific Partnership: what it is and how it will affect Thailand and ASEAN”
