Yesterday (March 3rd, 2021), Thai-European Business Association held an internal meeting with the Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI). Members of the TEBA had an open discussion and information sharing meeting with Deputy Secretary General, Mr. Thana Alapach of the TISI with main discussions focus on the role of participation of the Thai government in the ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA), review of the existing standards for automotive provided conformity of the UNECE regulations as well as the development of entrepreneurial readiness.
Today (February 17th, 2021), Thai-European Business Association was invited to attend in a webinar which were organized by Thailand Development Research Institute Foundation (TDRI) and Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI), opening remarks by Mr.Thana Alapach, the deputy secretary general of TISI. The meeting had focused mainly on the consideration on the Automotive and Tyre Testing, Research and Innovation Center (ATTRIC) platform and policy as well as to establish development scheme, business model and future operation.
Today (February 15th, 2021), TEBA attended its latest webinar on the Task Force on Promoting Socially Responsible and Sustainable Business in Auto Parts Supply Chains, opening remark by Mr. Fredy Guayacan, Programme Manager, Responsible Supply Chains in Asia Programme of the ILO. The main objective of the meeting is to identify key constraints to improving responsible business practices in Thailand’s auto parts value chain, with a focus on decent work; and to identify good practices. However, we are happy to collaborate with the ILO and stakeholder to collect information and coordination between the Thai government and European private company.
Earlier today on January 27th, TEBA & EABC Automotive Working Group had an open discussion and information sharing meeting with Mr.Petros Sourmelis, Head of Trade and Economic Affairs and delegates from the Delegation of the European Union to Thailand, and discussed current issues of automotive sector, investment incentives, and various customs issues and their progress including the EU-Thailand Free Trade Agreements (FTAs). The meeting was attended by companies such as BMW, Continental, Access Europe, Mercedes Benz, Michelin, TUV Rheinland and Robert Bosch etc.

On December 26th, 2019, the Thai-European Business Association had the pleasure of attending the Road Safety Booth Fair, organized by the Department of Land Transport (DLT). His Excellency Mr. Saksiam Chitchob, Minister of Transport has launched the Road Safety Campaign during the 2020 New Year Festival in an effort to lower the number of injuries, deaths and accidents on roads by trying to control factors causing road accidents.
On December 2nd, 2019 Thai-European Business Associaton was invited to attend the Road Safety Campaign Press event, organised by the Department of Land Transport. His Excellency Mr. Saksayam Chidchob, Minister of Transport, the Transport Company Limited, the Office of the Vocational Education Commission, the Thai Automotive Industry Association and the Thai Motorcycle Enterprise Association who spoke about Road Safety Campaign, directed at a specific target group of road users and reduced road traffic accident during the 2020 New Year Festival.
On November 29th, 2019 Thai-European Business Association (TEBA) attended the official launch event of the 2019-2020 European Business Position Paper: Trade and Investment Issues and Recommendations in Support of a Competitive Economy in Thailand. The event was presided by H.E. Mr. Prinkka Tapiola, Ambassador Delegation of the European Union to Thailand, and H.E. Mr. Sansern Samalapa, Vice Minister of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce. The European Business Position Paper is the unified work of EABC’s twelve working groups contributing to the improvement of European-Thai economic relations, trade and investment and covering a board range of industries.
