On the 26th of July, TEBA Delegates LED by Joerg Laatsch, TEBA President, met with Dr. Somkid Jatusripitak, the Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand, at the Official Government House.

On the 25th of July, TEBA President Joerg Laatsch and alongside other TEBA members paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Ambassador of Portugal to Thailand, H.E. Francisco Vaz Patto. Of major focus is the platform for our members to advocate for policy improvements tackling practical obstacles faced by European and Thai manufacturers in Thailand.

FBA 'needs to reduce protection'
Uli Kaiser, president of the Thai-European Business Association, said yesterday that some industries such as banking and insurance were tightly regulated. They are not investment-friendly for foreign businesses.
Incentives Sought for Aviation Investment
The expansion of foreign investment in the aviation industry would also encourage the transfer of technology and expertise from abroad, said Hugh Vanijprabha, chairman of the TEBA's Aerospace Committee and the new managing director of Rolls-Royce (Thailand).
Consumer Confidence and Auto industry get a boost
Thailand’s Consumer confidence index in June increased to the highest level in eight months at 75.1, according to the Centre for Economics and Business Forecasting of the Thai Chamber of Commerce. The centre director Thanawat Pholvichai said the 75.1 index recorded in June was the highest since November 2013.
BOI needs to be empowered: TEBA
The Thai-European Business Association has suggested that the government empower the Board of Investment and its offices abroad by providing more resources in order to promote and increase the communication channels between foreign investors, Thai officials and the Thai private sector. It is hoped the move would encourage more Western investments in the country.

TEBA Members Meet Ministry of Commerce Permanent Secretary
On September 8th, TEBA facilitated a meeting between a delegation of TEBA members and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce allowing TEBA members to put forward their suggestions on reforms, impact of the ending of the GSP, customs issues, and other issues of importance to the automotive, aerospace and pharmaceutical sectors.

TEBA Energy Committee: TEBA Contribute towards Thailand’s Energy Masterplan
Chulalongkorn University’s Energy Research Institute will be presenting a research report to the Thai Ministry of Energy on proposals for Thailand’s future energy plan. TEBA recently helped organize a meeting with members of the private sector to present the researchers’ proposals and gather opinions on the plan for inclusion when it is submitted to the government. The presentation was carried out by Chulalongkorn University’s Dr. Weerin.
TEBA Automotive Committee: Participation at largest Thai Autoparts Exhibition
From 28 April to 1 May, TEBA participated in the annual Thailand Autoparts and Accessories (TAPA) exhibition at the BITEC exhibition center organized by the Thai Automotive Parts Manufacturers Association (TAPMA). The exhibition is Thailand’s largest exhibition displaying the capabilities of Thailand’s automotive parts manufacturers.

TEBA Aerospace Committee: National Aviation Roadmap
Ministry of Transportation has a policy to develop the country's aviation industry and reduce dependence on foreign countries. The policies will help promote Thailand as a regional hub for aircraft maintenance.
