The meeting then proceed with productive and fruitful discussions, and also created detailed action plans for this year.
The first 2024 session of our European Aerospace Committee (EAC), a joint initiative between Thai-European Business Association (TEBA) and Franco-Thai Chamber of Commerce (FTCC).
TEBA members advocated for a better market access for European business and expressed strong support for the ongoing Thailand-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA). This, in turn, will improve the country's competitiveness, increase local productivity, boost growth and employment, and propel the country's industrial development.
The group also stressed on the importance of a good level playing field between European players and those from other FTA partners in the country, which is a key to strengthening Thailand’s position as a regional leader in the automotive, aerospace, and other high-tech and innovative industries.
Members discussed the state of play of EU-Thailand FTA negotiations, aligned on action points for key advocacy initiatives and held an open sharing session on shipping, logistics, customs & trade developments in Thailand.
Led by Mr. Tomas Kuchtik, EU Lead Negotiator for Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) and Coordinator for the Car Annex, the session allowed TEBA to effectively present its positions on automotive.
The discussion expanded to showcase expertise across various TEBA committees, reinforcing TEBA's role as a key stakeholder in advancing EU-Thailand trade relations.
TEBA in collaboration with the Motor Expo 2024 and leading European companies and investors in automotive industries, hosted a seminar and panel discussion addressing the future of mobility in Thailand with honorable attendance of H.E. Mr. Akanat Promphan, Minister of Industry.
